THE WAKE UP CHIRP

A 10-year-old boy must unravel the mysterious sounds of the crickets to find a way to handle his grandfather's oppression.

Kaan Orgunmat, blending Turkish acting roots with Swedish filmmaking experience, aspires to express his vulnerability through the cinematic medium and connect with audiences through the compelling narratives he weaves.

His thought-provoking works, such as the 2021 short film "Stimuli," explore the complexities of consciousness and the blurred lines between life and death from a coma patient’s perspective. The film premiered in the official selection at the 2021 International Film Festival Cologne, and many others between 2021 and 2022.

His second film, The Wake Up Chirp (2023), which explores themes of childhood, oppression, and the power of communication, has screened in 16 different countries and is still making waves at festivals. He continues to produce new work in Sweden, where he creates stories that he hopes will connect with audiences worldwide.
