MURDER TONGUE

Its May of 1992 and the city of Karachi is in a constant state of unrest. An old man receives a knock at the door, informing him that his son has been in an accident. The harsh reality they face on their way to the hospital is just a taste of the horrors that await them at the end of their journey.

Ali Sohail Jaura is an independent filmmaker from Karachi, Pakistan with a penchant for evolving emotions through stories. He seeks to explore different styles of storytelling in his films.

In 2017, he made a short travel film "Arz e Pakistan" (Land of Pakistan), in the Northern Regions of Pakistan. The film won many accolades in various international tourism film festivals. It was also ranked in the Top 10 tourism films of 2018 by Comité International des Festivals du Film Touristique.

His recent short films include "Nanu Aur Main" (Grandpa and I) and “Dry Leaves”. Both of his films have been officially selected in many prestigious film festivals, including Miami Short Film Festival, Indie Memphis Film Festival, Jogja NETPAC Asian Film Festival, and Sedona International Film Festival, amongst others.
